La Pelota this year belongs to Vitra

Vitra, the famous Swiss furniture brand that owns the world’s largest chair selection, acknowledged for its iconic pieces like La Chaise by the Eames, the Diamond Chair by Harry Bertoia or the W.W Stool by Philippe Starck, on the occasion of the Milan Design Week 2018, chooses La Pelota in the Brera Design District to complement its stand at Salone del Mobile furniture fair.

The Austrian designer, Robert Stadler who worked for clients such as Dior, Lobmeyr, Palais de Tokyo, Ricard, Thonet, and Vitra, curates the installation. His work has been presented at MAK - Museum for Applied Arts / Contemporary Art in Vienna, Les Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Fondation Cartier pour l’Art contemporain and Fonds National d'Art Contemporain.

The exhibition aims at immersing visitors in the history, present and future of the Swiss furniture company. Stadler´s work reveals new connections, narrative threads and possible interpretations of the “Vitra Project“.
As the name suggests  “Typecasting. An Assembly of Iconic, Forgotten and New Vitra Characters” collects an expensive panorama of projects, which focus on the changes in society and its effect on the established types of furniture throughout history.

Several designers were invited to take part in the event; at the same time Vitra Design Museum will be featuring the new launches and upcoming projects for this year.
