Edison lights up Milano Design Week

Design and architecture are becoming the main players responsible for bringing essential and vital changes to urban city planning. The smart use of resources and information is becoming the key to community development and to successful citizens. Hence, now designers and creative professionals are led to rethink their design method and processes: Is our vision really oriented towards sustainability? Are we really working to innovate or is it just a matter of aesthetics? Are we improving the quality of life?

Innovation and sustainable technology are the central themes of this year’s Milano Design Week. Edison, an Italian company specialized in electricity, is one of the protagonists of this Milanese evolution.

Edison wants to play a key role in Milan’s transformation and it chooses the Innovation Design District as an open-air lab to experiment the idea of a smart city”, says Cristina Parenti, Director of External Relations and Communication at Edison. “We are proud to participate, together with international designers, in the debate regarding the future of our cities, providing the know-how and passion that have distinguished us for over 130 years.

Edison's main objective is to co-design urban centres and cities together with architects and designers, generating a dynamic dialogue between professionals and citizens, capable of providing tailor-made solutions for the different territories ranging from the construction of completely self-sufficient and sustainable buildings to IoT solutions for smart cities, all the way to e-mobility solutions.

Edison, main sponsor of Fuorisalone.it, will be a part of the Innovation Design District during the Milan Design Week. Within the Innovation Design District Agenda Workshops, exhibitions and design talks will take place around Piazza Gae Aulenti and at the Microsoft House, experimenting and addressing topics such as: smart housing solutions and urban development for all citizens.
