Since the late 1980’s, we compose light in space, invent lighting solutions and design lighting projects in which simplicity, weightlessness, emotion, creative invention, amazement are the five fundamental components.
Over time, creative independence and passionate unconventional management allowed the company to grow from a small laboratory in Piacenza, Italy, to a leading international brand in the lighting sector, which distribute its original and unique products all over the world.

Davide Groppi creations are never conceived as just lights or lamps. They come about through the need to give life to something that is necessary or significant.
Among the many international projects, Davide Groppi has been particularly active in the area of hospitality (hotels and restaurants). Some of the most famous chefs have chosen lighting solutions by Davide Groppi for their venues.
Measuring itself against others’ art and being able to illuminate it are great responsibilities and have become ever-more frequent and entirely natural for the company. It is for this reason that the firm has developed solutions for lighting paintings and sculptures that are simple, lightweight and adaptable to various situations.
Since 2013 the firm develops light with a rechargeable battery. To be free to take light where you want it with simplicity and lightness.

Davide Groppi has been recognised for excellence by the press and received prestigious awards, including the two awards at the 23rd edition of the ADI Compasso d’Oro Awards for the Nulla lamp and for the Sampei lamp, and the 24th edition of the ADI Compasso D’Oro Mention of Honour Award for rechargeable battery lamp TeTaTeT.

In 2012 Davide Groppi opened the first showroom "Spazio Esperienze" to show the result of his vision and his work dedicated to light. A place to receive designers and anyone interested in living a true experience of light.
In 2018, the company is noticed by IDB – Italian Design Brands S.p.A. Group, the hub of Italian design in the high-quality furniture industry, whose role is to support and strengthen the already exceptional reputation Davide Groppi has internationally.
In 2019 the company becomes member of Altagamma Foundation, the committee of the Italian luxury brand,
being recognised as ambassador of style, quality and Made in Italy.
