City and Week: Festivals Between Eventism and Cultural Participation
3/ Jul
H. 6:30 pm
Talk
Where
Triennale Milano
Via Alemagna, 6

What are “city and week festivals” and why write a book about them? What make them different from other types of festivals and cultural events? How are they born and developed and which organizational structures and cultural policies have they fostered? Why are they an increasingly necessary format to face today challenges? On the occasion of the presentation of the book Festival diffusi: un nuovo formato organizzativo per le politiche culturali (published by Franco Angeli) the authors Andrea Minetto and Silvia Tarassi will present the volume together with Stefano Boeri and Filippo Del Corno, book preface and afterword authors and the series editor of “Consumption, production and places of culture” by FrancoAngeli. Host: Valentina Clemente, journalist SkyTg24.

Triennale Milano
Via Alemagna, 6

The glorious adventure of Giobatta Meneguzzo (Priabona, 1928 - Malo, 2021) begins in Malo, near Vicenza. A surveyor by profession, he made his debut by participating in the process of renewing the urban center of his town. With his first earnings he dedicated himself to collecting art books and then to collecting contemporary works of art. In 1969, based on a design by Gio Ponti and with interiors by Nanda Vigo, he created his futuristic house "Lo scarabeo sotto lafolia". In 1978 he inaugurated the Casabianca Museum, exhibiting to the public the largest collection of contemporary art graphics from the 1960s and 1990s. The volume, published by Allemandi, traces the contours of a visionary man thirsty for modernity, tenaciously anchored to his peasant origins, but animated by inexhaustible curiosity. An anthropologist of the present who, understanding his collection as a chronology of phenomena of the spirit of the time, gives us back the art customs of one of the most fruitful eras in the history of our country.
Together with the author Francesca Interlenghi the designer and teacher Stefano Mirti and Damiano Gullì, curator for Contemporary Art and Public program of Triennale Milano, intervene.

"From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana" presents the fashion house's unique creations on display for the first time. An open love letter to Italian culture, the inspiration of Dolce&Gabbana's spirit since its origins, tracing the extraordinary creative process of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana: from the heart, from which ideas spring, to the hands, the instrument through which they take shape. The exhibition will celebrate the brand as a symbol of Italian style through the dream of Haute Couture, and will explore its unconventional approach to the world of luxury: elegant, sensual and unique, but at the same time fun, irreverent and revolutionary.
