A flower bouquet and bonsai tree by LEGO

News — 13 January 2021

A collection dedicated to the green-fingered, to be put together brick by brick. Here is the new Botanical Collection, to be composed in a relaxed and creative way.

For all LEGO fans, there is a good news to start 2021 off right: the famous company of coloured bricks patented in 1958 by Kirk Kristiansen has launched the new Botanical Collection. This is a line of two sets, designed for adults, which includes a flower bouquet and a bonsai tree, to be built piece by piece, or rather brick by brick.

“As adults look for new ways to switch off and relax, we’re delighted to be able to help them seek solace from their busy everyday lives as they immerse themselves in creating these beautiful botanical builds,” says Jamie Berard, Design Lead at the LEGO Group. “The customisable elements and mindful building experience will hopefully help them express their personality as their creativity blossoms.”

The LEGO flower bouquet consists of 756 pieces that can be assembled and customised to create different varieties and compositions: snapdragons, roses, poppies, asters, daisies and various grasses. The LEGO bonsai is made up of 878 pieces: the foliage can be modified as the seasons go by, so as to recall the blossoming of the cherry tree.

Both sets in the new LEGO Botanical Collection include a number of elements made from plant-based plastic, produced using sustainably sourced sugarcane.
