5VIE presents the eighth edition of 5VIE Design Week. The 2021 edition will have at its center, more than objects, the ideas, which are the root of design. To design is to launch oneself forward; to design is to sow the seeds that will germinate tomorrow.

The events and initiatives of 5VIE Design Week will include 5VIE productions, exhibitions and installations with guests and partners, meetings, talks and entertainment.

Among the various performances that will take place in these days, 5VIE presents four designers of international importance, whose work will be declined in a site-specific manner within as many installations-events:
Jorge Penadés, Spanish designer, in via Cesare Correnti 14 presents the performance LOOKS LIKE MAGIC!
Native of Benevento is Sara Ricciardi, who proposes an itinerant installation-performance along the streets of 5VIE;
In Via Santa Marta 18, at SIAM (location to be confirmed), Francesco Pace with his studio Tellurico, presents the performance Untitled 1B;
also at SIAM will be Richard Yasmine, who will be streaming from his studio in Lebanon for the duration of the event.

Among the prestigious collaborations are those with:

HoperAperta, which will be present at Palazzo Recalcati in the spaces of the Wannenes Auction House with the exhibition L'oggetto Celibe. Per un'arte da camera à réaction poétique - co-produced with 5VIE and curated by Patrizia Catalano and Maurizio Barberis;

Masterly which, with curator Nicole Uniquole, presents The Dutch in Milano 2021 at Palazzo Turati, featuring an exhibition of more than 80 pieces, realized with the support of the Embassy and Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Italy;

MoscaPartners, which launches at Palazzo Litta the now historical appointment Design Variations 2021, interpreting the Cortile d'Onore of the Palazzo through the site-specific installation by Studio Aires Mateus: Una Spiaggia nel Barocco (A Beach in Baroque) that celebrates sociality and the meeting between people. The exhibition continues with a selection of companies, designers, schools and institutions from all over the world.

Lastly, 5VIE also presents its own double group exhibition Roots to Matter - Matter to Dream, featuring the work of independent designers and studios active on a national and international level.
Matter to Dream, in the SIAM venue, explores the theme of poetics of matter with pieces by CELO.1, Rou Materiaal, Ceren Arslan, Martina Guandalini, Reiecta and The Art Flower Maker.

Roots to Matter acts as a counterbalance, hosting in the venue of via Cesare Correnti 14 the reflection on the practice of design in its link with the cultural and material roots of the designers. Studio Terre, Fornice Objects, MATANG, and Orla Reynolds will be exhibiting.

In addition, 5VIE presents a series of talks in which the major themes of social innovation, sustainability, digital, new development scenarios will be discussed:

Wednesday, September 8th, 9.30-13.00: Innovation city - Social Design for the communities of the future;

Wednesday, September 8th, 15.00-17.00: Beyond the digital Renaissance – How blockchain-related technologies are empowering business and development in arts and culture;

Thursday, Septembe 9th, 10.00-12.00: The Architecture of Digital Swarm – Visions and Organizations;

Friday, Septembert 10th, 10.00-12.00: TÈC Forum - Design and local tourism: a winning combination.
