Placed in the historic Orto Botanico di Brera, Natural Capital is one of the largest three-dimensional data visualization that experiences the use of infographics as a design category. The installation designed by CRA - Carlo Ratti Associati with the contribution of Italo Rota, extended over 500 square meters, aims to enhance the role of plants and trees in the capture and storage of CO2 .

With this installation continues the commitment of CRA shared with Eni, in the search for new paradigms for a more sustainable future: at the heart of the reflection, the theme of the protection and conservation of forests, a pillar of the decarbonisation strategy that will lead Eni towards the zero emissions target in 2050.

Natural Capital consists of a series of bubbles that float in the picturesque setting of the Botanical Garden of Brera. Each bubble has a different diameter - from a few centimeters to a few meters - to represent the capacity of absorption and storage of CO2 (annual and during the entire life cycle) of some of the many species present, according to the ecosystem estimates made by Professor Alessio Fini.

At the entrance of the visit path a dark colored sphere on the ground symbolizes the impact produced by the primary functions of each individual.
The result is a visual and immediate comparison that allows visitors to understand the symbiotic circle between man and nature.

INTERNI Creative Connections is the title of the exhibition-event organized by the Mondadori Group's interiors and contemporary design magazine, which will take place from 4 to 19 September, in the Courtyards of the Università degli Sudi di Milano, at the Brera Botanical Garden and for the first time in via della Spiga 26. With the patronage of the Municipality of Milan, INTERNI Creative Connections will also be an opportunity to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the FuoriSalone, born in 1990 on the initiative of the magazine and universally recognized as a reference event for the international design and architecture project.

The 2021 edition of the exhibition was born with the intention of activating and multiplying connections and relationships: a virtuous system between the protagonists of creativity, designers, companies, distribution networks that have the essential need to connect people, ideas and projects from places and different cultures.
In collaboration with companies, multinationals, start-ups and institutions, almost thirty installations, design islands, micro-architectures and macro-objects have been created, all site-specific, which develop three important themes which are: 'Care', 'Sustainability' and 'Mobility / Speed'.
