The last few months has seen an increased interest in outdoor furniture for our homes, outdoor spaces of restaurants and cafés, and for common areas of work environments. These spaces are ever more being designed to ensure well-being and for an escape from everyday life. Through the choice and personalisation of furniture, such environments offer an enclosed, orderly retreat that is functional according to the user’s needs.
Our homes have been redesigned to welcome us for longer periods and to escape living in confined spaces within which we have been housed for a long time in recent months. And so, outdoor places, such as terraces, gardens and verandas, have come into their own, significantly contributing to our serenity and mood. These cosy and intimate spaces have the same qualities found indoors.
While the commercial sector linked to the hospitality world prepares for a hopeful full return to normality, we can begin to imagine and dream of taking springtime walks through the city streets, having brunch, drinks and dinner outdoors, and even travelling once again. Such businesses are having to rethink their spaces according to new social distancing rules, using tailor-made furniture to create functional, versatile areas that offer users a new, care-free experience.
Within working environments, there is growing interest in setting up small gardens and terraces to offer employees moments of relaxation in the open air, considering the central role of chairs and tables in their configurations.
Respecting these characteristics, Pedrali interprets these trends with outdoor solutions to fully live the outdoors. Its refined, high-quality products ensure durability, efficiency and functionality, made of materials that are easy to clean, maintain and sanitise, also with aggressive detergents.
Pedrali’s outdoor collections are light, allowing them to be easily moved around, and are mostly stackable, to save space while not in use or simply store away at the end of the day. The materials used make resistant to weathering, salty sea air and sunlight to preserve their beauty and quality over time. And all this without renouncing on attention to detail, for truly pleasant and relaxing open-air spaces. The outdoor world is one that Pedrali knows well, since that is where its roots lie. In the early sixties, Mario Pedrali founded a small workshop where he began to produce wrought iron garden furniture. These origins are echoed in some of the brand’s most successful collections over the years, such as Nolita and Tribeca, both designed by CMP Design. In their shape, these families of chairs and tables retrace the early years of the 100% Made in Italy company and have been selected for prestigious projects both in Italy and abroad.
Among the novelties, Panarea, the collection designed by CMP Design, rooted in the colours and refreshing breeze of an outdoor dinner on a sea-facing terrace.
An armchair and a lounge armchair featuring a traditional element hand-woven in Italy as a sign of respect for and dedication to Italian craftsmanship.
The use of polypropylene cord emphasises Panarea’s elegant appearance and gives the seating a three-dimensionality and graphic rigour, as well as making it transparent, easy to move.
The lounge armchair comes with a wide seat and a high backrest whose curvature traces virtually a circular space of relax and conviviality.
The comfort is enhanced by a comfortable cushion in dry-feel polyurethane foam that dries quickly and covered in fabric made from the same yarn used for the woven element.
Panarea comes in a sophisticated and contemporary chromatic palette: from the warmer shades of sand and terracotta to the colder ones of blue and grey.
Reva Twist elegant three-seater sofa and lounge armchair give life to contemporary and urban settings.
The collection designed by Patrick Jouin is characterized by soft lines and generous sizes. The four tapered legs in die-cast aluminium are placed at the extremities of the perimeter frame in extruded aluminium, the steel backrest and armrests are woven with a flat rope in weather-resistant polypropylene, for a more natural appearance. An upholstered sofa where comfort is enhanced by soft cushions that rest on the frame, giving it a relaxing and reassuring aspect.
To customize terraces and gardens, Pedrali proposes Rail, a sun lounger defined by simple, modern lines. Its slim frame in powder coated aluminium has four angled legs in stainless steel featuring an oblique design. The seat and backrest are in textilene. Upholstered in water-repellent, UV-resistant fabric, the comfortable cushion is padded in dry-feel foam and allow to enjoy moments of relax.
Remind is a functional, versatile and relatively small chair designed by Eugeni Quitllet. A chair made of polypropylene, suitable for outdoor use thanks to the combination of harmonious lines and a lightweight yet solid material.
In Santorini, in the magical and suggestive context of Maregio Suites by Fotinos, an intimate hotel with a splendid sunset view on Caldera. Remind polypropylene armchairs have been selected to furnish the outdoor common areas and the suites’ terraces, allowing to enjoy the surroundings in relax and to be transported by the energy of the island.

Gossip polypropylene armchair, with sinuous and rounded shapes, lightweight and stackable, is now available in the “recycled grey” version, made entirely from recycled plastic material.
In Soul Outdoor, designed by Eugeni Quitllet, predominates the combination of different materials and cutting-edge technologies that brings us back to the nautical world. A pleasant contrast between the curved aluminium frame and the teak ensure a great aesthetic result, thanks to the shininess of the metal, while preserving the shape and the sinuosity of the lines.
Tribeca, designed by CMP Design, is a true outdoor icon that draws inspiration from classic Sixties patio chairs, revisited with new materials: a steel frame, combined with the elasticity of a profile in vertically-woven plastic material that is remarkably durable, easy to clean and colourful.
Recognizable for its summery traits, Tribeca collection features exceptional locations such as Vaeshartelt Castle in Maastricht, that hosted important figures over the years and today features a hotel, a bar and restaurants surrounded by a beautiful garden. Tribeca armchairs and barstools, in the tones of pink and terracotta, furnish “The Greenhouse”, the coffee shop located in the greenhouse designed by Reiters studio.
And it is the colour, exhaled by Tribeca, the ingredient that can make the Madrilenian terrace of the Room Mate Macarena Hotel memorable, true oasis of peace on top of Madrid’s Gran Vía.
Also Nolita outdoor collection, by CMP Design, gives elegance and freshness to en plein air locations worldwide. Nestled in the Mediterranean scents, Gattopardo Hotel offers a breathtaking view on the turquoise waters of Lampedusa. Carefully furnished with natural materials, armchairs and lounge chairs contribute to the guests’ relax.
The collection has also been selected for Natu Restaurant, in the garden of Goulandris Museum of Natural History in Athens. Designed by Stones and Walls studio, the restaurant blends the creative Mediterranean cuisine with an environment featuring contemporary and modern traits.
Again in Athens, on the rooftop terrace of Brown Acropol Hotel by Brown Hotels, comfortably seated on Nolita barstools, it is possible to spend the night tasting dishes from the Greek culinary tradition in the restaurant that offers a breathtaking view on the Acropolis and Mount Licabetto.
Lastly, Ara collection naturally fit in the outdoor areas of contemporary and modern bars. Designed by Jorge Pensi Design Studio, the collection stands out for its refined and well-balanced shape. Made in polypropylene, it becomes so unique thanks to the peculiarity of the handle at the end of the backrest. A successful collection which this year celebrates a special anniversary: 10 years from its presentation, dated 2011. Over the years Ara has been selected to furnish different spaces, such as Convento della Ripa cloister in Albino, a place full of architectural and historical suggestions, or Primo Restaurant courtyard in Lecce, where the guests can taste their dinner surrounded by an intimate and charming atmosphere. Lounge armchairs also dressed the streets of Città Alta in Bergamo on the occasion of the international exhibition “I Maestri del Paesaggio”.
Pedrali tables can express the outdoor conviviality, getting transversality and comfort out in the open air. Characterised by technically advanced materials, they are easy to clean and sanitise, also with aggressive detergents and furnish the outdoors while combining functionality and elegance. The powder coating is available in a wide range of colours, as well as neutral tones. The tops are also available in material effects, such as the stone, to recall nature.
Fabbrico table, made of powder coated steel treated for outdoor use, stands out for its minimal, essential aesthetics. Available in the size 1m x 1m, this table is the perfect solution for contract and hospitality environments, to put the guests at ease, while respecting the minimum distances required at this time. Toa, designed by Robin Rizzini, is a functional and evocative table. Lightweight and minimalist, it is characterised by a solid die-cast aluminium frame. Main features are its tapered bridge legs made of die-cast aluminium, which are thinner at the base and widen up towards the “T” element that supports the top. Thanks to the possibility to match tops in durable materials such as the solid laminate, also in stone or terrazzo effect, it is possible to bring the indoor comfort out.
Elliot tables, by Patrick Jouin, thanks to specific finishes and bright colours, are designed to fit in different environments, outdoors included. The sophisticated architectural design design conveys a striking sense of harmony and solidity, making it light and functional. These tables have been selected to furnish enchanting locations, such as Bohem La Stazione, a magical and suggestive venue located between Iseo lake and Franciacorta vineyards, and Plage la Mandala coffee bar in Cannes, to spend moments of conviviality with friends in a colourful environment by the sea.
To light up the nights, Pedrali proposes Giravolta, the wireless, rechargeable lamp with a contemporary design by Basaglia Rota Nodari. Easy to carry, it features a swiveling diffuser that can be turned 360° to direct the light. Giravolta is inspired by the lanterns of the past and makes atmospheres truly magical.
