as it is. -equilibrium flower-
For Milano Design Week, TAKT PROJECT will fill the church of San Bernardino alle Monache with soft knit fabric objects standing on their own, just barely balanced.
The artwork is made with a self-developed knitted fabric that hardens when heated. The balance between the cloth trying to outspread and the hardened supporting structure somehow evokes the vitality of a bud that is on the verge of flowering in the harmonic state of equilibrium with the outside world.
The installation is an attempt to spread countless manmade objects in the church, like a Japanese flower arrangement 'ikebana' that finds balance with the atmosphere and gives a harmonious feel to it.

Established in 2013, TAKT PROJECT is a design studio based in Tokyo and Sendai, led by Satoshi Yoshiizumi.
The studio has been carrying out self-driven research projects —to destabilize existing frameworks— and the results have been mostly invited and often presented independently to museums as well as design exhibitions both domestically and internationally, including Milan Design Week, Design Miami/, Museum of Decorative Arts Paris (Musée des Arts Décoratifs), and the M+ museum in Hong Kong, 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT in Tokyo.
Based on the research results, the studio realizes diverse projects to create ‘envisioned possibilities’ in collaboration with various clients.
