in a box
After designing a series of prints for Abet Laminati, Arthur Arbesser, the Viennese-born fashion and costume designer, decided to follow up with a furniture design project of his own. The starting point is the clean geometry of a box with its sharp corners. The dimensions of the furniture are deliberately out of scale, designed to be small sculptures with a more artistic than practical approach. The applied prints create three-dimensional plays on the precise lines of the objects: a chair, a coffee-table and a set of three modular containers. Also on show will be the new printed tableware textiles from the Arthur Arbesser Casa collection.
