Mirror Reflections
Acerbis, among the longest-lived companies at the forefront of the furniture industry, presents the new and expanded Remasters 2022 collection, revisiting two masterpieces from the historical archive, extending the brand's creative solutions for contemporary living spaces.
In Via Durini 3 presents Mirror Reflections, an installation of products from the new and expanded Remasters collection, conceived by creative directors Francesco Meda and David Lopez Quincoces as an ode to the experiments of Nanda Vigo, who collaborated with Acerbis since the 1970s. Mirrors that transform the space in a play of light and refractions form an intersection of fragments and distortions with the graphic geometry of Roberto Monsani's Life system and the elegant Med seat by Lodovico Acerbis and Giotto Stoppino.
Since 1870 a point of reference for connoisseurs of handcrafted Made in Italy design furniture, Acerbis has created products of extraordinary innovation in collaboration with some of the most innovative Italian and international designers, including Massimo and Lella Vignelli, Vico Magistretti, Nanda Vigo, Gianfranco Frattini, Giotto Stoppino, Jonathan De Pas, Donato D'Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi. Today, led by creative directors Francesco Meda and David Lopez Quincoces, Acerbis combines the avant-garde vision that has always distinguished it with new interpretations of archival products whose modernity is still revolutionary.
Each element of the Remasters collection is a "mini-architecture," according to designers Meda and Lopez Quincoces, illustrated by the launch of the two new Remasters products: the graphic geometry of Roberto Monsani's Life system, and the elegant Med seat by Lodovico Acerbis and Giotto Stoppino.
Monsani's Life system, imperceptibly re-proportioned and revisited in the name of versatility, takes on a new luxuriousness with frosted glass ribbed with thin linear ribs, diffused LED lights, lightweight glass shelves, and a checkerboard effect in the bright, vivid colors of the vintage cars of Meda and Lopez Quincoces' vision.
Modern lighting allows the cubes to be aligned flush with the wall, and in keeping with Acerbis' unique talent for locking systems, the hinges have been made invisible, enhancing the marked lines of the cubic design. The wall-mounted system meets a contemporary need in the home with flexibility, visual impact, and, of course, Acerbis' extraordinary quality and functionality.
With its contrast of curves and linearity, the Med seat by Acerbis and Stoppino takes on new, more agile dimensions and more graceful proportions for the legs and frame in walnut or black ash. Characterized by unique details such as the section of the legs - reminiscent of the iconic Flatiron Building located in Manhattan, New York - and the crossbars that join them, the repetition of which is a distinctive graphic sign, the Med seat is easily matched with all types of tables.
As part of the Fuorisalone ITALIAN EXCELLENCE Acerbis X Salvatore Ferragamo, a project curated by Francesco Meda and David Lopez Quincoces for the Women's and Men's boutiques at Via Montenapoleone 3 and 20/4, puts two protagonists of Made in Italy in dialogue.
