Fractal
An immersive installation that reflects on the theme of connectivity. Within it, electronic devices are transformed by dressing in novel materials and two new technologies accompany social, productive and economic evolution.
The advent of new technologies has given designers the opportunity to create new scenarios and new products oriented to specific values, such as ethics and sustainability. Out of this reflection comes the Fractal installation by Deutsche Telekom Design, in collaboration with the strategic design agency Layer directed by Benjamin Hubert, which focuses on user interactions with objects and technology.
In Fractal, the user has access to a mirror room, an immersive experience in which the reflected image multiplies infinitely, alluding to the mutual influence between people and the digital spaces we inhabit. From here we then enter an area dedicated to projects where we find Concept Connectivity, created with London-based studio Layer: electronic objects reinterpreted with novel materials.
Also presented are the Augmented Reality Packaging project, which rethinks the way of designing the packaging of a technological product, and the new MagentaZuHause application: a concrete aid to everyday life. A project by Deutsche Telekom Design & Customer Experience in collaboration with Layer. Cortile d'Onore - University of Milan - Inside Fractal, Deutsche Telekom presents Concept Connectivity, developed by the in-house design division in collaboration with Layer: a router, a mesh repeater, a set-top box-soundbar with webcam, a set-top box and a remote control. There will also be the Augmented Reality Packaging project: a new packaging for technology products with a QR that reveals the product's features, as well as initializing it and downloading updates. Finally, the MagentaZuHause application, with features ranging from proposing a to-do list to remotely managing connected devices in the home.
