Just Add Water
In Alcova, from 5 to 12 June, LAUFEN and NM3 present the installation born from their collaboration: two video works projected through a large LED wall show the objects in their compositional parts, stripped of their usual function and assembled in an imaginary architectural space.
The first video shows the work of Marc Comes, film director of Berlino: the world of water and the meaning it assumes in the LAUFEN product range as a metaphor for the brand’s philosophy. The other video, made by No Text Company, video maker in Milan, shows prototyping phases and the industrial environment in which they take shape pieces of NM3.
Two free-standing monoliths, one in polished stainless steel and the other in scotchbrite steel, are placed in front of the LED wall as a physical counterpart to the digital representation of NM3 objects, creating an imaginary dialogue with the images reflected on the mirrored surface. The whole space is permeated by sound, echoing through the large steel structure like a gigantic sound-system.
