Inclusive Design. For a world without barriers
More than 2.5 billion people globally need prosthetic care or an assistive product. ETH Zurich sets out to improve their lives through CYBATHLON. This non-profit project challenges teams from all over the world to develop assistive technologies suitable for everyday use with and for people with disabilities.
What makes an excellent bionic hand? How can we produce an affordable leg prosthesis that is recyclable? Is it possible to steer a computer by thoughts alone? ETH Zurich explores the power of Inclusive Design: The interactive exhibition shows how design can break down barriers through a selection of state-of-the-art and award-winning projects of assistive technologies.
The pop-up House of Switzerland at the Casa degli Artisti is located in the heart of Milan’s lively pedestrian zone and historic design district, Brera. Under the title "Urgent Legacy", education and research institutions, emerging designers, independent studios, and established brands exhibit under one roof. The House of Switzerland is organised by the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia and Presence Switzerland.
