SENZA INVITO un racconto di circolarità a San Vittore
After two tragic and extra-ordinary years, a project is proposed for Milan Design Week 2023 that is unique in terms of the themes addressed, the exhibition model, and the venue hosting the event.
It is an exhibition of design projects made by inmates from scraps and waste produced in the prison itself: bottles, fruit crates, cardboard, and other waste are used to meet daily needs, to “chase desires” and to create new possibilities where most of us simply see waste.
The exhibition, conceived by Davide Crippa and promoted by the Republic of Design district, showcases the results of the prison's Circular Economy workshop founded by Ilaria Scauri and led by design professors from Iuav Università di Venezia.
To enrich this tale among the objects, visitors will be accompanied in the exploration of the exhibition by Marco Merati's photographic shots and the “interpretative lens” of researchers from Polimi.
Senza Invito thus represents a unique opportunity to get closer to the world of prisoners and to “enter” one of the oldest and most inaccessible places in prison history.
A project so special that it needs a special procedure, so it will be MANDATORY to BOOK the visit by filling out the registration form at least 20 days before the visit and in doing so you will need to send your ID card.
The form and directions for being able to book the visit are available at Repubblica del Design website (https://repubblicadeldesign.it/social2023/), and places for lucky visitors are limited according to the slots on April 15-22.
