Triennale Milano - Milano Design Week 2023
For Milano Design Week, Triennale Milano will open to the public with new exhibitions and projects, confirming its vocation as a leading international institution in the fields of design and architecture, and showcasing some of the most interesting ideas and products of these disciplines.
Visitors of Milano Design Week will have the opportunity to see the renewed Museo del Design Italiano, directed by Marco Sammicheli, open from April 15. The permanent exhibition traces the 100-year history of Triennale with a selection of iconic design objects from 1923 to the present day. Triennale also presents the exhibition Droog30. Design or Non-design? (April 15 – 23), co-produced with Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam and curated by Maria Cristina Didero and Richard Hutten, which celebrates the work of the innovative Dutch design collective, thirty years after its first Milanese exhibition for the FuoriSalone in 1993, and the exhibition Lisa Ponti. Disegni e voci (Lisa Ponti. Drawings and Voices) (April 15 –May 2023), curated by Salvatore Licitra and Damiano Gullì, which presents a selection of works by the artist, editor, critic and writer who has made drawing on A4-size sheets her expressive medium of choice.
From April 17 to 23, Triennale also opens its spaces to the research, exhibitions and projects of important international institutions and companies, such as: Duson Gallery Seoul (South Korea), Japan Creative (Japan), Moravian Gallery (Czech Republic), Timberland Worldwide and ACDF (Arts and Culture Development Foundation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan) (Uzbekistan).
The retrospective Angelo Mangiarotti. When Structures Take Form and the permanent installation of Ettore Sottsass' Casa Lana, with the exhibition La Parola, remain open to the public, as well as the exhibition Mirdidingkingathi Juwarnda Sally Gabori, presented as part of the partnership with Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain.
