Nomadic nuances, Furniture branded Le FRENCH DESIGN 100
Paris - Milan
French design is spreading to every continent, ready to embark on any adventure and adapt to any scenario.
Luxury hotels halfway around the world, nomadic bars, stylish chairs made from recycled plastic, soft lighting, nomadic or oversized pieces... The creations on show are innovative, colourful and poetic, and they all offer affordable, transparent quality.
Le FD100 is the only prize to award object and space projects that promote French design on an international scale and pays tribute to the entire "ecosystem of designers, manufacturers and unique skills, all essential elements of our French art de vivre", says Jean-Paul Bath, CEO of Le FRENCH DESIGN by VIA.
Creativity and expertise
For Laurent Le Bon, Chairperson of the Centre Pompidou and of Le FD100 2024 jury, these outstanding "Made in France" pieces embody "the vitality of French design in an international arena."
The result of collaboration between 26 designers and an equal number of manufacturers, the 31 works chosen highlight "an abundance of creativity that brings to the fore the demands of formal research, technical expertise capable of mastering all the dimensions of a project, while calling on the extraordinary skill of our manufacturers, who are an infinite resource of materials and shapes for designers.”
Circular scenography
The architecture and interior design agency Atelier du Pont (Anne-Cécile Comar & Philippe Croisier) has come up with an innovative and sustainable scenography based on circularity to showcase these objects and furniture designed and manufactured in France.
"We used 100% recycled materials, vintage displays and furniture sourced in France.”
