Mario Schifano: Compagni in un’oasi sotto il cielo stellato
An artistic journey that embraces various works in a unique and extraordinary narrative. Inside the exhibition area at Spazio Roseto in Corso Garibaldi 95, approximately thirty paintings by Mario Schifano will be displayed. These works were created by the great artist between 1966 and 1968.
The exhibition, curated by Monica Schifano and Marco Meneguzzo, opens on April 17th. It is promoted by Roseto and Harves, a new company specializing in luxury real estate property intermediation. The event is organized by ArtRelation, led by Milo Goj, in collaboration with the Mario Schifano Archive and with logistical support from Casa d’Aste Capitolium Art.
A remarkable novelty in the exhibition is the inclusion of Tutte stelle, eight paintings that have never been seen, photographed, or exhibited until now. Schifano created these works to cover the walls and ceiling of a room in Princess Patrizia Ruspoli’s house in Rome. He envisioned this space as an immersive environment, completely enveloped by stars, evoking a sense of movement, lightness, and sensory exhilaration.
Alongside this gem, other prominent works include Inevitabile viaggio a Marrakesh – an eight-panel polyptych – and Compagni Compagni, an explicit reference to the 1968 protest movement. Additionally, there’s the previously unseen Oasi from 1967. This unique perspective adds a fresh dimension to the extensive series of exhibitions dedicated to the artist, featuring large-scale canvases specifically created for individuals who, like Schifano, were experiencing similar sensations and emotions.
