As an empowering project to facilitate the international development of consumer products industry, “2024 Design to Wonderland" will continue to act as a new global site for Shanghai consumer brands, and connect with leading design minds around the world through exhibitions, design forums and events. Focusing on brand ecology, sustainable development and cultural aesthetics, “Design to Wonderland” explores the role of design as a driver in industrial innovation, quality of life, as well as urban and social development.
Presented by Shanghai Design Week, the "Design to Wonderland" Milan Exhibition, themed "Designing Dragon, Fusion of Tradition & Innovation”, introduces a curated space that gathers various consumer design brands from Shanghai and other Chinese cities incorporating dragon motifs in their product designs. The exhibition aims to showcase the creative diversity of integrating traditional Chinese cultural elements into contemporary design. Additionally, it endeavors to foster collaboration between international consumer product designers and industries.
The exhibition is scheduled to open on 15 April 2024 during Milan Design Week and will run until 21 April at the China&Design@Zona Sarpi during Milan Design Week.

Introduction: Under the initiative of “Design to Wonderland” 2024, the Milan exhibition is dedicated to showcasing the "Made in Shanghai" brand and highlighting the fresh prowess of Shanghai's fashionable consumer goods. Through friendly exchanges among Chinese and Italian designers, the aim is to bolster the competitiveness of the industrial and supply chains, fostering collaboration and dialogue among leading talents in the global fashion consumer goods sector.
This exhibition opening forum organized by Shanghai Design Week invites representatives from both Chinese and Italian design sectors to delve into the diverse development ecology and design culture of the Chinese and Italian design industry. The forum will particularly look into how design can empower the consumer goods industry, how to connect designs from China with the international markets, and explore future collaborative prospects between China and Italy in the field of design.
