The Spot is a curated event space created by Modular Lighting Instruments especially for Milan Design Week 2025. A mysterious hideout in the heart of the city, The Spot is a high-end, immersive meeting place designed for both learning and entertainment. Thanks to its meticulous lighting and spatial design, the atmosphere of the space shifts depending on the time of day and the type of event. The rich daily program revolves around three moods: experience, enlightenment, and enjoyment.
1. EXPERIENCE
As soon as guests step into The Spot, they will be immersed in a unique installation featuring Modular’s flagship luminaires. The experience continues underground, where visitors will discover a bespoke space designed to host a variety of events, with ongoing networking opportunities at the bar and evening aperitivos.
2. ENLIGHTENMENT
TALK | ENGINEERED TO PERFECTION
For those seeking inspiration, Modular’s designer Jeffrey Huyghe and engineer Jelle Busschaert will reveal the creative process behind Straw—the newest linear workspace luminaire, a shining example of radical simplicity and modularity. In their pursuit of refined minimalism, Huyghe and Busschaert stripped the classic tubular shape to its essence while adding an unexpected functional twist. A true triumph of design and engineering.
WORKSHOP | GIVE IT MINUDE
During this hands-on workshop, participants will have the opportunity to explore the engineering behind the Minude luminaire family. An iconic lighting piece, loved by architects worldwide, that holds more innovations than meets the eye. A unique chance to experience firsthand the complexity behind true simplicity.
3. ENJOYMENT
Daily DJ sets will bring The Spot to life, culminating in a grand closing party on Thursday.
