Focus Event

GAGGIA OPEN HOUSE

Enter, live, and be inspired by Gaggia's world

Gaggia Milano takes part to the Milano Design Week Fuorisalone 2025 in the Porta Venezia Design District, the same neighborhood where, in Viale Premuda 14, Achille Gaggia – the company’s founder - in the 1930s, invented and filed the patent for the Lampo system. Thanks to this disruptive invention, it was possible to brew the “authentic Italian espresso with crema naturale” that we love and enjoy to this day.

The Gaggia Open House project will take place at the art gallery “Eroici Furori” in Via Melzo, 30. There, Gaggia will present its newest manual coffee machine: Classic GT. This machine is dedicated to everyone who wants to feel protagonist of a bespoke coffee experience and live the daily ritual of an Italian espresso at home, with a product that has outstanding performances and a strong interactivity. Classic GT has a new DNA, expression of a distinctive Italian design and production, that reflects the great attention and high quality of the brand, as well as its valuable heritage.

During this Design Week, the aim of Gaggia goes way beyond launching a product. The goal is to share the values and the unique history of the brand, in an engaging and stimulating way for all guests, visitors and audience involved. The success of the brand is based on a profound link between its identity and what being “truly Italian” means, taking into consideration the global trends, the desires of contemporary coffee lovers, the technological evolutions, and new rituals. For Gaggia, coffee is not just a drink, it is a journey that one can build every day with different experiences and new skills acquired through practice and experimentation.

From Monday 7th to Friday 11th April, Gaggia Open House will be a dynamic place to share ideas, discuss, socialize, have fun, and learn. The setting inside the gallery includes 3 home coffee stations with Classic GT, with unusual design solutions, colors combinations and shapes, thanks to the collaboration of a young innovative brand of superior quality porcelain stoneware and Italian design: Eccentri.co, project of the company Galileo s.r.l. that produces and sells Italian ceramics. Colorful 3D ceramics from the Beat collection are used to cover the coffee stations and to decorate a wall. This collection is inspired by music, as it gives an unusual dynamic effect on walls, and the various distinctive color combos allow the maximum expression of creative freedom and a personalized design.

To share its messages and convey its values with authenticity, Gaggia Open House at Eroici Furori gallery will be the place for various interesting activities, such as:
- Artist live shows: Eugenio Filippi, Luca Font, Marta Lagna (one each day, on April 8, 9, 10)
- Talks (every afternoon)
- Tastings and demo with Classic GT + the MDF55 grinder (every day)
- 4 “latte art” masterclasses (from April 8 to 11; at 11 am) and masterclass dedicated to 4 Specialty Coffees (from April 8 to 11, one a day, on one of the available coffee stations)
- Espresso hour: opening event (April 7)

On April 8, 9 and 10, the three Italian artists involved by Gaggia will customize Gaggia Classic GT during a dedicated live show. The result will be a unique work of art, merging industrial design, creative freedom, and originality. Each of the artists will share with us their own style, vision and storytelling.
Eugenio Filippi is an architect who combines design and street art with his artistic production. He began in the 90s with graffiti and stencils, then evolving towards three-dimensional compositions. His works are characterized by intertwined, overlapped and superimposed large solids, in a continuous change of planes, points of view, and calibrating full and empty spaces.
Luca Font, living between Milan and New York, is a writer, occasional typographer, interested traveler, convinced supporter of tradition and of its intrinsic relativity. From trains and walls to tattoos and works on paper, the lowest common denominator of his works is the manifest interest in graphics and visual synthesis, functionality and modernism, in the name of the constant search for a meeting point between creation and rationality.
Marta Lagna is a calligrapher who collaborated with major fashion houses, such as Gucci, Fendi, Valentino, Dior, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Loewe, Pucci, Bulgari, Max Mara and many others. Today, she creates a line of home furnishing objects, while continuing her wall decoration activity, in addition to important large-scale street art works. Each object conveys a message with carefully chosen words. Poetry and literature are her greatest sources of inspiration

The talks will be informal and interactive moments of dialogue, around coffee and other topics. Gaggia will engage experts of the coffee world, as well as people working in the design and art fields, including the three artists, and other interesting personalities who have worked with Gaggia over the years. It will be a salon where to enjoy a cup of espresso, while delving deeper into topics that are relevant to the FuoriSalone visitors, with coffee as the red thread of all talks.

All days, all day long, it will be possible for everybody to taste espresso and various coffee and milk-based beverages prepared by the professional baristas of Accademia Italiana Baristi with the new Classic GT and the new Gaggia MDF55 grinder.

Every morning from Tuesday 8th to Friday 11th, there will be a one-hour long “Latte Art” masterclass hosted by the baristas of Accademia Italiana Baristi. Also, one of the three coffee stations will be dedicated to a specialty coffee, with another specific masterclass to discover all features and secrets for the best extraction and brewing with Classic GT.

To open the week, on Monday 7th, there will be a free coffee tasting with a sweet pastry creation by Pasticceria Angelo Inglima, accompanied by an exclusive DJ set. Special guests of the day will be: Enrico Maltoni, coffee expert and collector of vintage espresso machines, and Fabio Rezzonico, designer of many Gaggia machines. Maltoni is a true celebrity in the sector: in addition to curating his personal collection, he is the co-author of the book "Coffee Makers", holds numerous roles and boasts important collaborations, such as the one with the Cimbali Group for the creation of the MUMAC "Museum of Coffee Machines". Furthermore, he is a teacher in the Slow Food Master of Food Caffè. Fabio Rezzonico has been awarded with numerous prestigious awards, including the Compasso d'Oro in 2001, and he is linked to Gaggia by a long and consolidated professional partnership. The last collaboration between him and the brand gave life to the new Classic GT. Consistent with his vision, the coffee machines he designs are a perfect synthesis between design, functionality and meticulous attention to detail.

During the five days of the event, with its experiential proposal, Gaggia Milano aims to become a meeting and aggregation point for the neighborhood around the coffee ritual, and enriching that moment with contents that represent the Italian excellence, stimulating discussions, dialogues, knowledge and inclusion.
