URBAN MEADOW

ECCENTRICO presents URBAN MEADOW in the Porta Venezia district. The iconic newsstand on Corso Buenos Aires transforms into a ceramic meadow—an urban oasis in the heart of the city.

During Milan Design Week, the iconic newsstand on Corso Buenos Aires will be transformed into Urban Meadow, a public installation designed by Alessandro Corina Studio for Eccentrico, a project by Galileo s.r.l., a company specializing in the production and marketing of Italian ceramics. Blending nature and culture, this intervention in the heart of the Porta Venezia Design District interprets the theme of the 2025 Fuorisalone, Connected Worlds, by turning an iconic urban element into an unexpected oasis where ceramic design redefines the dialogue between public space and social interaction.

Urban Meadow serves as a point of connection between people and the metropolitan landscape—an installation that embodies the growing intersection of sustainability and innovation in urban environments. Through the use of ceramic tiles in vibrant shades of green and rich textures, the structure evokes the sensation of a city meadow, offering a contemporary reinterpretation of public space as a place for gathering and sharing.

The installation will also be enriched by the presence of Frab’s, a cultural dissemination project that combines the sale of independent magazines with the organization of activities related to art, culture, and publishing. Frab’s will curate a special setup featuring a selection of the most interesting Italian and international editorial titles, creating a meeting point between design, culture, and reading.

The extruded porcelain stoneware bricks, inspired by artisanal craftsmanship, are arranged in modular compositions, creating a dynamic and enveloping surface. Integrated LED lighting enhances the iridescent effect, making the installation come alive even at night. The newsstand, a symbol of urban culture, is thus transformed into a multifunctional green island, inviting visitors to rediscover the relationship between design and the environment with inclusive and accessible spaces. It turns a corner of the city into a sensorial and immersive experience.

The installation showcases Norma, a collection by Eccentrico—a concept project that reimagines ceramic design through the principle of balance and exception. Comprising three timeless stones and Neo, a distinctive brick available in six gradient color variations, Norma offers designers unprecedented creative freedom while maintaining a strong connection to traditional craftsmanship.
Urban Meadow is a tangible example of how public space design can foster social interaction and promote a new environmental awareness. It is an invitation to slow down, observe, and connect with the city through the language of design.

Eccentrico will also be present at the Gaggia Milano exhibition space, the historic Italian coffee machine brand, located at Via Melzo 30, just a short distance from the Eccentrico newsstand. This partnership has fostered an interaction between two worlds—the ceramic industry and home appliances—leading to the development of a unique project featuring three coffee stations. These stations are clad in 3D tiles from the Beat collection, making them the perfect setting for showcasing the new Classic GT espresso machine and the MDF55 grinder.
