Triennale Milano - Milano Design Week 2025

Triennale Milano is presenting a series of exhibitions and projects confirming its vocation as the go-to institution for design and architecture

For Milano Design Week 2025 Triennale Milano presents a series of exhibitions and projects displaying the work of some exciting international players in the field of design.

The public will have the chance to visit Forme Mobili, the show at the Museo del Design Italiano, directed by Marco Sammicheli and designed by Luca Stoppini, which explores the multiple relationships between body, silhouette and movement. The other exhibitions open to the public are: Franco Raggi. Pensieri instabili (Unstable Thoughts), staged at the Design Platform, curated by Marco Sammicheli and Francesca Pellicciari, and designed by the Piovenefabi studio; John Giorno: a labour of LOVE, curated by Nicola Ricciardi with Eleonora Molignani, and supported by Giorno Poetry Systems; ETTORE SOTTSASS. ARCHITETTURE PAESAGGI ROVINE, curated by Marco Sammicheli, with Barbara Radice and Iskra Grisogono from Studio Sottsass, and art direction by Christoph Radl – as usual, it will be possible to visit Casa Lana by Ettore Sottsass.

In addition, the ORObyRUFFINO – The Art of Connection exhibition will open on April 7. For this show, Ruffino and Triennale Milano have entrusted designers Agustina Bottoni, Beatrice Dettori, Uroš Milić, Studio Martinelli Venezia, and Studio Millim with the task of reinterpreting the meaning of connections through new works. The project transforms entertainment into an artistic experience, expressing the artists’ relationship with gold and their creative vision of the precious metal that has always been a symbol of transformation and elevation.

For Milano Design Week, Triennale is hosting in its spaces the research and projects of international institutions and companies, showcased in exhibitions to offer an in-depth analysis of key topics in the contemporary design debate. Admission to the following exhibitions is free: Emeco In&Out, proposed by the Emeco brand and designed by Jasper Morrison; Against war. 7 designers for EMERGENCY, curated by Giulio Iacchetti; ERCO Light Box: Light and photography in dialogue; Light in Matter by Emanuel Gargano for HYLEtech; Playful Sculptures by Naoto Fukasawa for JAKUETS; Nest Award, curated by Arturo Dell'Acqua Bellavitis; Material Alchemists: Class of 2025, the Wallpaper* magazine exhibition; Future Make: OTW by Vans, in collaboration with Willo Perron, Magician, a project by Creative Academy.

Triennale Milano is an international institution that brings together all forms of contemporary culture: design, architecture, visual arts, photography, cinema, new media, fashion and performing arts. It is a place where art and design, creativity and technology, tradition and innovation all interact.

It presents the works of major Italian and international architects, designers, and artists. It puts on exhibitions, meetings, conferences, and performances, and offers new points of view on some of the key issues at the heart of our society and public debate.

Triennale Milano is located in Milan's Palazzo dell'Arte, built in 1933 by the architect Giovanni Muzio, who designed it as a modular, flexible.

Triennale Milano has its own theatre, with an international, multidisciplinary calendar of events that is particularly focused on performing arts. Moreover, from 2019, Triennale presents the Museo del Design Italiano, with the aim of promoting part of the institution's permanent collection, which consists of 1,600 among the most iconic and representative items of Italian design.

Every three years, it also organizes the International Exhibition, one of the most important events devoted to design and architecture. The 24rd Triennale Milano International Exhibition will be held from May 13 to November 9, 2025.
