Rossinavi’s journey to becoming one of the world’s foremost custom superyacht builders started in the Tuscan town of Viareggio in the 1980s. The company was founded by brothers Claudio and Paride Rossi, who began their careers as metalworkers, expertly forming the hulls of fishing boats in steel and aluminium. Under the name of Cantiere Navale Rossi, they quickly cemented their reputations within the industry as capable of producing at the highest level of quality and professionalism. Throughout the 1990s the family-run company worked as a supplier to the luxury yacht sector, building up their knowledge and mastery of their craft until 2007 when the Rossinavi brand was officially born. Finally building superyachts under their own name, Rossinavi quickly excelled.
After launching numerous luxury yachts of 40-70 metres in length, and with several currently in production, the shipyard now enjoys its recognition as family-owned and operated superyacht company. Working with Tuscany’s finest materials and artisans, Rossinavi’s construction is completed in-house and more than half of the craftsmanship that goes into making their custom yachts is done exclusively by hand.
For some time now, Rossinavi has been navigating towards a more sustainable vision. Its full electric vessels are a sign of a well-defined route and proof that the company is ready to weigh anchor. The culmination of years of research in energy efficiency is SeaCat, a catamaran concept that was launched in December 2021 and that allows for 80% electric mode sailing in transatlantic crossings. The idea is to absorb sunlight during the daylight hours and transform it into energy, taking full advantage of solar panels. The batteries in which the energy is stored also light up the catamaran’s living area as well as give back to the marina to which SeaCat is moored.
