CADORIN: THE ART OF TURNING WOOD INTO DESIGN

The carpentry company is more than a century old and has been handed down through the generations since the days of Grandfather Giosuè, who originally specialised in the construction of wooden carts and barrels, and then sawing timber. Today Cadorin has grown and evolved, and is run by Giosuè’s grandchildren Claudio and Rita Cadorin and their father Delfino, still very active despite more than 60 years in the business.

Today the company specialises completely in parquet in all its forms, since technically the products can also be adapted for designer wall cladding and staircases; it also produces coordinated bespoke accessories for interior design. Occupying 15,000 square metres, the Cadorin production facility is located in Possagno (Treviso), where the entire process takes place: concept, design and product development, followed by research to find the most suitable wood. The timber arrives and is cut and allowed to evaporate before being dried in the ovens. Every element is chosen and divided into sections to allow the construction of a layered plank, which is glued and shaped before undergoing meticulous surface customisation for the many finishes available. The secret to the success of our collections is the synergy between technology - with highly innovative and advanced machinery - and the handcrafted custom finishes of the products. The production line was specifically designed to better handle customisation: it can be stopped at several points, allowing for manual intervention for an artisan finish. This investment offers not only technical precision, solidity and product stability, but also an unmistakably beautiful surface which retains the ancient hallmark of woodworking. In view of this, for many years our slogan has been “The artisan quality of an Italian product”.

The end result is a truly broad range of CADORIN Collections: from exclusive finishes using gold/silver leaf or dust to antiqued surfaces; from trendy effects in fashion colour schemes to exclusive patterns for particularly decorative surfaces. Although they are all different, Cadorin products are all characterised by the certainty of obtaining quality, taste and a unique, 110% Italian product. The company’s flexibility means we can meet the needs of architects and interior designers, creating unique bespoke projects all over the world for private homes, offices and also the contract sector.

THE GREEN SOUL OF CADORIN
The company has always worked to minimise its impact on the ecosystem. Today the entire production cycle uses clean, renewable energy, not only heat, but also electric and solar power. Italian zero-kilometre production helps to reduce CO2 in terms of transport, when compared with companies who import parquet from Eastern Europe or the Far East.

Within our wide range of products, customers can easily identify those that are more sustainable and that have received Green Stars. The star rating system - developed by Cadorin - takes into account the kilometres travelled to procure the wood (the closer it is, the lower the environmental impact of transport to our factory) or timber sourced from FSC® or PEFC™ suppliers, as well as the use of natural oils and waxes for finishes and, where relevant, the use of recovered antique wood in a philosophy of reduce, recycle, reuse. Finally, we should mention that all our planks are formaldehyde-free and VOC-tested, as they do not use adhesives or glues containing harmful chemicals.
