JTMW GUITAR

#01WB is a prototype conceived and produced by Marco Guazzini and Joan Thiele, a young singer-songwriter/producer based in Milan.

MWJT is the acronym for Marwoolus®️ and Joanita, two friends, a designer and a musician, united by the desire to merge their vision and passion into an object that can resonate: a “marble and wool” electric guitar, where Joan, passionate about soundtracks, meets Marco, linking the materiality of the material to a deep love for cinema: Imagining the blend of nature, mountains, and the colorful cinematic sound of a unique electric guitar.

The material used for the body is Marwoolus®️ and the total weight of the first guitar prototype is 3.945 kg.

The peculiarity lies in the hybrid shape of the guitar, in the material which naturally lends its own unique sound. Aesthetically, the uniqueness of the instrument lies in its innate customization attribute, which, based on the color of the wool and the color of the marble base, will lead to infinite combinations of graphics and colors, always random and unrepeatable, #01WB is a sequence code indicating the serial number of the guitar produced, the color of the marble, and the color of the wool used, and in this case, guitar number 1 in white marble (white) and blue wool.

It all stems from the idea of experimenting and creating something together, first and foremost in the face of friendship and mutual respect between Marco Guazzini and Joan Thiele, together with Joan’s great passion for design. A collaboration born from a spontaneous intuition by both, who for three years had been envisioning the creation of a new and special musical instrument using Marwoolus®️ as the building block.
The collaboration is inspired by the fusion of design and music, emphasizing how stimulating it is to merge different fields and how relevant the mutual influence between art, design and music really is, acting together as forces propelling a shared vision.

Marwoolus®️ was born in 2015 from the idea of creating a new material by combining the raw materials of the two places where Marco Guazzini grew up, the wool of Prato and the marble of Pietrasanta. Specifically, using the waste from production and processing, Marwoolus®️ is composed of marble powder and wool fibers bound in a two-component matrix. The applications of this new material are varied: it has been mainly used for the commissioned production of furniture and collectible objects, but also for wall tiling, tops and other interior decorations.
