Brands MEET Digital Culture Center

MEET Digital Culture Center is the first International Centre for Digital Art and Culture in Italy. Born in Milan in 2018 with the support of Fondazione Cariplo and founded by Maria Grazia Mattei, this very special activator of design and processuality formally opens to the public in October 2020 with the aim of contributing to bridging the Italian digital divide, promoting international initiatives and bringing value to ever-new languages, in immersive spaces that help define the technological scenario in which MEET moves.
MEET covers 1500 square metres, developed on three levels, in a space in Piazza Oberdan designed by Studio Carlo Ratti Associati, who reinterpreted it starting from the concept of a digital culture centre, working on the idea of fluidity, interconnection and participation.
The beating heart of MEET is the recurring cycle of Meet the Media Guru meetings, which includes personalities from the world of innovation, personalities who - together with international bodies, institutions, universities, research centres and centres of art and digital culture - form the network in which MEET moves and for which it promotes cultural and artistic initiatives, also through the experimentation of new languages and site-specific immersive works with artists and creatives who are not only Italian.
Since November 2023 MEET has been a Museum Recognised by the Lombardy Region and since then its permanent archive “Le Radici del Nuovo” has been made available to the public in order to offer a meeting point between past and present, with the aim of supporting a new awareness of the ongoing digital transition.
