Drawing inspiration from heritage and presenting it in modern lines turns furniture into distinctive, artistic pieces that integrate ancient civilizations with our modern times. This is what Nouran Khedr aims to achieve through Maqam. Nouran studied Architecture and Environmental Design at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport. As a student, she always dreamed of designing furniture, and her passion for the Arab heritage continued to increase following her graduation. Her products combine the spirit of the Middle East and modern contemporary lines. She creates designs that are enriched with natural materials made by Egyptian craftsmen from the finest types of natural wood.

Nouran believes that every architect has a passion that shows their mark in any of their work. Her mark is exemplified in her modern way of reviving the Arab heritage and presenting it in a manner that highlights originality, quality of details and simplification, as her designs reach loving homes in the best image.
