Designers Matteo Vilardo e Marcello Marino

The studio consist in two designers, Matteo Vilardo e Marcello Marino. Born and raised in Sicily, Matteo and Marcello meet in Milan, where they both earn a degree in Product Design from the IED. From there begins a collaboration that is first of all friendship, sharing of passions and discoveries, the search for a broader sense of one's work.

Their vision of design places Man at the center of the whole, with his concrete desires and needs, not only individual but, above all, collective. This means finding optimal solutions for everyone: man, environment and industry. The products must be environmentally friendly, intuitive to use and simple to make.

Equally important is the creative process, during which personal passions and technical knowledge mix to arrive at the finished product. The objects made tell the ideas and the production process from which they were born. Each of them is a story that tells itself, bringing to light the original thought, how it was developed and on which production technology it is based. Without hiding anything.

For the exhibition in IED House, the designers propose Gengè, a wall mirror produced for the brand Medulum.
