Designers SP_Lab

An experimental laboratory of furniture design, SP_Lab was founded in 2020 within Sice Previt, a Milanese company operating in the field of construction and high-end furniture, whose initials it inherited.
The aim of the laboratory is to give space to the creativity that the company has developed over decades of producing high-end furniture for the international market of high fashion brands. From this constellation of experiences a new horizon of development aroused, centred around SP_Lab, a completely autonomous design laboratory whose products are conceived, designed and manufactured entirely in Sice Previt.
The inspiration for the first line of products, which will set the tone for all the collections to come, comes from the Milanese masters of 1950s design and, more generally, from the lessons of modernism, which showed the timeless elegance of essential forms conceived as inseparable from the function of each piece of furniture.
SP_Lab aims to create designs with clear and modern lines that highlight the use of raw materials of the highest quality, from marble to precious woods, as well as materials typical of contemporary aesthetics such as glass and steel.
The apparent simplicity of SP_Lab furniture conceals a complex production process, where craftsmanship and creative impetus are combined with a thorough engineering study of structures and workmanship, especially when dealing with heavy or fragile materials and large furnishings. A process where the scientific and experimental soul of Sice Previt, which has always been interested in applying the most innovative technologies and combining engineering with art, finds its place.
