Designers TVBOY
TVBOY, alias Salvatore Benintende, was born in Palermo on 16 July 1980 and studied design at the Faculty of Industrial Design later attending the Faculty of Fine Arts in Bilbao.
He then moved to Barcelona where he worked as a graphic designer for a skateboard magazine.
TVBOY became world famous when he made his mark in the centre of Barcelona with a mural showing a passionate kiss between Messi and Ronaldo.
Since then, TVBOY has exhibited in many museums, galleries and streets around the world, becoming one of the most recognisable and celebrated urban artists.
TVBOY perfectly embodies our contemporary society, breaking down the boundaries between disciplines and pushing us to abandon our sterile, compartmentalised view of the world. He does this through the techniques or tools he uses but also through the content he deals with, creating a dialogue about racism, discrimination, the environment, climate, cinema, sport, religion, violence, sex, death, immigration, love, friendship, power, heroes and art.
TVBOY’s strength is his continuous, exaggerated and all-encompassing artistic output.
TVBOY aims to become an encyclopaedia of images of contemporary society.
The theme of Fuorisalone 2024, Materia Natura is very much felt by the artist and prompted him to make his own contribution by working with Don Papa Rum.
