Designers ARTHUR ARBESSER
Born and raised in Vienna, Arbesser was fascinated by the culture and history of the city in which he grew up. The architectural dynamism at the turn of the century, as well as the heritage of the applied arts, remain a great source of inspiration for the Austrian designer to this very day.
At Central Saint Martins College, he quickly developed his personal aesthetics, influenced by his intimate contact with London’s prolific art scene. After graduation, he moved to Milan and started working for Giorgio Armani, where he spent seven years, becoming
an essential part of the design team.
In February 2013, Arthur Arbesser launched his eponymous brand. Right from the start, the most influential voices in fashion and the press discovered and supported the young talent. In 2015, at the second edition of the prestigious LVMH prize, Arthur Arbesser was
one of the seven finalists. In June of the same year, he participated as a guest designer at the PITTI Immagine in Florence. In addition to his own brand, Arbesser is a consultant for various fashion houses and has collaborated with companies including Apple, Silhouette Eyewear, HEM and YOOX.
Arbesser is now internationally known as one of the most talented young designers, establishing his personal, sophisticated and energetic style. His silhouettes emanate a kind of sensual modernity with his recognisable prints associated with clean lines and careful choice of fabrics. Latterly, the new challenge of designing ballet and opera costumes has added another creative strand to his world. For example, the New Year’s Concert in Vienna in 2019 and 2022, ‘Der Rosenkavalier’ at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Berlin in February 2020, ‘Il Barbiere di Siviglia’ at the Teatro Valli in Reggio Emilia in March 2021 and the ballet ‘Der Schneesturm’ at the Bayerische Staatsoper - Munich in April 2021 are some examples of his theatre projects.
