Designers Uroš Mihić
Uroš Mihić, a designer of Serbian origin and master of origami, thanks to his studies in architecture at the Milan Polytechnico, redefines the ancient art of folding paper, transforming it into a geometric composition in the succession of folds. The result is design objects that appear as logical systems of minimal beauty, micro cosmos in which each fold defines the birth of a planet, of a star. Each fold is in fact functional to the order of that iconic world, in a virtuous crescendo of forms that imitate and interpret the animal, vegetable and architectural worlds in a surprising and unusual way. Paper, a simple and malleable material, loses its unarmed nature, transforming itself into a thinking object that gives order to the space in which it is placed, thus becoming a window towards a dimension other than the tangible, harmonious and essential. A cosmopolitan designer and at the same time a craftsman, linked to the tradition of high Italian craftsmanship, Uros Mihic through his works explores the roundness of reality, simulates it in perfect geometries that are the result of meticulous work interwoven with a rigorous design that can only be replicated through the uniqueness of its creator's bending. A poetic rigour that has earned him excellent collaborations with brands of the calibre of Armani, Cassina, Pomellato and Porro. His installations include the one designed for the Ginza store of Ermenegildo Zegna in Tokyo.
