Designers Weijen Chen

Weijen Chen is a Taipei, Taiwan-born designer and researcher specializing in Human-Food Interaction (HFI), a subfield of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). With a background in food design and visual communication, her work explores how technology can enhance taste perception, dining experiences, and the future of Food UX and Food UI, redefining culinary rituals through innovation. She holds a Master’s degree in Food Design and Innovation from Scuola Politecnica di Design, Italy (2019) and has worked as a graphic designer at TDFK Studio in Milan and an App UI designer at CTS Inc. in Taipei. Currently, she is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Embodied Media Lab, Keio University Graduate School of Media Design in Tokyo, while actively collaborating with the Inclusive Reality Lab at the School of Computer Science, University of Auckland. Her research integrates technology, sensory perception, and human-centered design to transform dining rituals and enhance multisensory eating experiences.
