Designers Sabrina Ratté
Sabrina Ratté (Québec, 1982) is a Canadian visual artist based in Montréal, whose work investigates the encounter between technology and biology, the interaction between materiality and virtuality, and the speculative evolution of the environment. Through the use of tools such as 3D scans, analog video synthesizers, and 3D animation, her works give life to digital ecosystems that manifest in interactive installations, videos, digital prints, sculptures, and virtual reality. Inspired by science fiction, philosophy, and critical theory, Ratté imagines worlds without human beings, where forgotten remains continue to transform, creating new connections with the ecosystem.
Her works have been exhibited in international institutions, including the Laforet Museum in Tokyo, the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Montréal, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the PHI Center in Montréal, the Max Ernst Museum in Brühl, and the Museum of the Moving Image in New York. She has held solo exhibitions at Gaîté Lyrique in Paris, Fotografiska Shanghai, and at Arsenal Contemporary Art in Montréal and New York. Her works are part of the permanent collection of the Musée d'Art Contemporain de Montréal. In 2020, she won the prestigious Sobey Art Award in Canada.
