Designers Alessandro Enriquez
Alessandro Enriquez was born in the heart of Sicily, in Palermo, to a Sicilian mother and a Franco-Tunisian father of Spanish descent. After graduating with honors in Modern Literature from the University of Palermo in 2004, he moved abroad, living between Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, and London. His strong creativity led him to complete his studies in Fashion Design at two of the most prestigious European institutions: Central Saint Martins in London and Istituto Marangoni in Milan, the city where he currently resides.
Following an experience in the menswear design department at Maison Costume National, in 2009 he also began teaching at institutions such as Istituto Marangoni, IED, and IULM. Alongside his career as a designer, he developed his role as a communicator and fashion editor, collaborating with leading international magazines including Elle, Marie Claire, Vogue Bambini, and Vogue Sposa. His digital and narrative approach has given rise to a unique, joyful, and hyper-Italian language, which he himself defines as “Enriquezian.”
In 2012, he published his first fashion and food book, 10X10 Anitaliantheory, supported by Giusi Ferrè and featuring contributions from iconic figures such as Anna Dello Russo, Margherita Missoni, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Ornella Vanoni, Fabio Novembre, and Paola Navone.
In 2013, he debuted with the brand An Italian Theory, which in 2017 was renamed Alessandro Enriquez. His illustrated, ironic, and highly recognizable style tells the story of Italy in a fun, pop-inspired way, drawing from the creative genius of Franco Moschino and irreverently reinterpreting Italian traditions. His collections have captured the attention of both national and international press, from Vogue to Interni.
In recent years, the brand has launched capsule collections with major media impact in collaboration with companies such as Mattel, Universal, Swatch, MC2 Saint Barth, and Campari. Love, in all its many forms, is the common thread running through his creations: a positive, universal message that Alessandro conveys with irony, lightness, and passion.
The brand is distributed internationally and has also expanded into the world of interior design, thanks to a wallpaper line in collaboration with Jannelli&Volpi. Key markets include Italy, Germany, France, the Benelux countries, Switzerland, Turkey, and Japan. Celebrities who have chosen to wear Alessandro Enriquez include Chiara Ferragni, Chiara Francini, Gianna Nannini, Mariano Di Vaio, Arisa, Massimiliano Caiazzo, and Mr. Rain.
The most powerful message recognized in Alessandro’s work is the celebration of love, which he brings to the runway—and to life—as a distinctive symbol of his creative world.
