Senior Exterior Desiger – Hyundai Motor Europe Design Center (Rüsselsheim, Germania)

Born in Milan, since he was a child he has been chased the dream of becoming a car designer.

He begins to scribble its first cars in kindergarten, and then one day in primary school he discovers that drawing cars can also be a profession! From that day, he started to chase and dream his work.

After middle school, he begins scientific high school. Despite having on his target the dream of becoming a car designer, he follows the path of those who recommend a more technical and "broad" initial education. He therefore enrolled at Politecnico di Milano in industrial product design faculty.

In addition to some first freelance collaborations in the world of design, in those years he had his first contact with the car’s world as a journalist, collaborating with Motorbox.com. Interviewing and talking to famous designers is a great training and a first dream to come true.
To stay close to car design, he takes part in some student competitions and in 2006 he wins the Auto&Design Award for Italian Young Style contest (as youngest finalist) and the Autostyle Design Competition 2009 (Urban cars / SUV category).

Even before graduation, he is selected for Pforzheim school in Germany. Freshly graduated in 2011, he then leaves for the Master in Transportation Design, which will keep him busy for two years, one in school and one for the internship in Hyundai and the thesis in Volkswagen, in Wolfsburg.

Before graduating, in 2013, he received a job offer from Hyundai's European design center, where he had his first internship experience. It is here in  Rüsselsheimthat begins his career as soon as he graduated from the Master.

Immediately involved in important projects, in 2016 his biggest dream came true. The first car designed by him got presented at the New York Motor Show: the Genesis New York Concept, a sports sedan for Hyundai luxury brand.

Immediately after, he starts the project for New Hyundai i10. His design proposal is selected and in September 2019 his first production car got presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new compact city car Hyundai made its debut on the Italian market in January 2020. Very recent are also his last two projects : the New Hyundai i30 N (launched in its first version in 2017, the Hyundai i30 N has been the first mass-produced high performance car of the brand) and the New Kona N Line (the motorsport-inspired trim of the renewed B-SUV Kona).

He currently lives in Germany, in Mainz.

He travels a lot, often to go to his beloved Italy.

Traveling (better if on a vintage car or motorbike!) is a great passion, enriched by photography and the search for local gastronomic specialties. The contact with nature has also always been important for Davide. Maybe it could be far from the image of the "ideal designer", but fishing and gardening are two of his great passions that perfectly balance frenetic rhythms and challenges of the design center.
