Designers Sergio Matos
Sérgio Matos’ affective link to Northeastern Brazil, comes from product design degree at the Federal University of Campina Grande, in 2005. Since then, the city from Paraíba has been residential and professional address. Opened the Studio seven years ago and accumulating prizes awards such as Design Excellence Brazil (Balaio Armchair, Xique-Xique stove and Carambola puff in 2011); If Product Design Award (Carambola puff, Germany in 2012) and Be Open (2014) for the studio's creative performance. At the recent edition of the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF New York 2018) the award of best Foreign Area Furniture among all the exhibitors of the global fair.
Outside the studio, creation follows the course of consultancy to artisan communities, where in the furthest places there are strong experiences in exchanging knowledge. The fusion of design with craftsmanship establishes the formula that protects belonging, inherited knowledge of ancestors, valorization of original raw materials from the surroundings. The natural richness added to unique culture of indigenous and riverside results in the Design with the aura of ancestry.
