Kohler celebrated art, color, and innovation at Milan Design Week. From the unveiling of Janet Echelman’s dynamic installation to the new limited-production Artist Editions® pieces, Milan provided the perfect backdrop for bold collaborations and inspired creations.
Milan Design Week saw the unveiling of Noli Timere, Janet Echelman’s grand-scale, dynamic installation at the Palazzo del Senato courtyard. Janet is a world-renowned artist known for experiential sculpture, at the scale of buildings, that transform with wind and light. She has been a long-time collaborator with Kohler, including the launch of 18.02 by Janet Echelman Veil™ vessel sink. Her Milan installation is as inspiring as it is dramatic—a true centerpiece for a week of unbridled creativity.
Championing the visual arts and bringing an artistic sensibility to product design have been vital to Kohler Company’s identity throughout our history. In celebrating the 150th anniversary, Kohler partnered with four female artists trailblazing new paths in their art forms. Each artwork is hand-applied to three stunning bathroom products in an exclusive limited-production run of 150 pieces of design. The resulting artworks are as beautiful, diverse, and joyous as the people and places from which they originate.
The Palazzo del Senato courtyard buzzed with activity all week long. The space displayed Kohler’s legacy of continuous product innovation with the newest smart toilets, and it paid homage to dedication to the arts with an immersive Creator Room experience that asked visitors to become the artist and create their own digital art.
