The contemporary collectible design fair par excellence lands in Paris, in a versions that mixes historical pieces too.
27 of the world's leading design galleries meet this week in Paris to animate the first French spin-off of the design fair which every year is divided between the two events in Miami and Basel. Among the booths, a selection of historical and contemporary furniture, historic and contemporary furniture, lighting and objets d’art, tracing the history of collectible design from the early 20th century to the present day, telling stories of influence and innovation through exceptional, rare and iconic objects from around the world.
In the spaces of L'hôtel de Maisons - an 18th century mansion that was home to several generations of thePozzo di Borgo family, as well as celebrated fashion designer, creative director, artist and photographer Karl Lagerfeld - very different presentations are therefore set on show, whose proposals unfold around different key thematic threads. Many galleries offer presentations in direct dialogue with the magnificent historic surroundings of L’hôtel de Maisons, some in harmonic conversation, others in striking contrast.
Indeed, Grela Orihuela - Senior VP of Fairs, Design Miami/ - says: “We are delighted to be announcing such a rich and diverse program for our inaugural Paris edition. The new fair brings with it exciting opportunities to present world-leading collectible design in a way we have never done before, and we look forward to celebrating together in Paris during this significant new moment for the city’s creative scene”.
