The call for We Will Design 2024 is open

IN-DIFFERENCE is the theme with which the Call for Entries to participate in We Will Design 2024 is launched. The event will be held during Fuorisalone and Milan Design Week from 16 to 21 April at BASE Milano.

For its fourth edition, We Will Design – IN-DIFFERENCE opens the doors to build a temporary community of emerging designers, architects and young artists who will live and work within the spaces. A “conviviality” laboratory that invites visitors to reflect on the most innovative practices of coexistence and sharing currently present in Europe, along with their interrelation with the spectrum of migration, gender, skills, health and cultural background.

Erica Petrillo, who is participating in the fourth edition of We Will Design – IN-DIFFERENCE, as Curator-in-residence, delves into the themes in depth: “The lens through which I look at the fields of art and culture distances itself from mere aesthetic considerations. In line with my training, I am interested in art, design and architecture as a reflection and continuation of sociopolitical phenomena, contexts and communities; but also as tools for research, intervention and action. BASE, like every cultural center, has the responsibility to create the conditions to become an arena of critical discussion in which to test alternative ideas and strategies that can help us consciously navigate, as well as survive ethically and intellectually, in the complex world of today. This is the approach with which I will try to contribute to the dialogue that BASE has started in the context of We Will Design.”
