The first edition of Alcova Miami

Design — 01 December 2023

The off-fair of the most famous Design Week in the world arrives overseas with a multidisciplinary program of design, architecture and club culture.

In just a few days, the doors of Alcova Miami will open to reveal Alcova’s much-anticipated first overseas edition, which will run from 5th to 10th December, after the many successful milanese editions throughout the years. The exhibition will unfold in the unique spaces of the Selina Gold Dust Motel, one of the most iconic motels of the Biscayne Boulevard/MiMo district. Alcova Miami 2023 will present a lineup featuring projects that bring together institutions, established and emerging brands, a diverse array of design studios, and a cross-section of emerging talents. The exhibition promises to delve into various facets of contemporary design practice, from pioneering research on innovative and sustainable materials to the immersive worlds of contemporary craft and sensory design.

Miami, with its rich cultural tapestry and architectural heritage, provides the perfect canvas for this new chapter in Alcova's narrative. It embodies the commitment to challenge conventional boundaries in design practice and foster a global dialogue on the future of design. The exhibition will be enriched by a series of Poolside Design Chats to hear some of the most inspiring and innovative minds of the design world talk about what’s next, and by night, by the Alcova Club Nights (In Space). For 4 nights only, Alcova Nights in Space pushes sonic boundaries to bring the unexpected. Curated by the team from Daniel Perlin (dj n-ron hubbard, ex-Domus Mixtapes) and Decades in Space, each night features live performances from bleeding edge artists, designers and DJs, pushing the parameters of planetary design.
