Fuorisalone hosted some protagonists from the worlds of design, art and contemporary culture to talk about these two words, at the center of the reflections of Milan Design Week 2024.
From 15 to 21 April 2024 the Milan Design Week will liven up the city with events, installations, parties, cultural initiatives and curated schedules, for the most important moment of the year for Milan.
For the 2024 edition, Fuorisalone launches the theme Materia Natura, a suggestion that promotes, through an exploration of the profound connection between these two words, a conscious design culture, highlighting sustainability as a guiding principle and value in the creative process and in planning.
Materia Natura has been the protagonist of a moment shared with some of the most outstanding people in town coming from the worlds of art, design and contemporary culture, who exchanged their views, in the scenographic setting of the Brera Design Apartment, providing exceptional points of view on the topic.
The dialogue around the theme was curated by Nicola Ricciardi - creative director of MiArt - who collected thoughts, stories and anecdotes from Andrea Cassi and Michele Versaci - architects and designers - Annalisa Rosso - editorial director of the Salone del Mobile.Milano and co-founder of the studio Mr.Lawrence -, Federica Sala - independent curator and editorial director of The Good Life Italia -, Giorgio Ferrero - director, composer, photographer -, Italo Rota - architect and designer -, Andrea Staid - anthropologist, author and teacher at NABA - and Andrea Vigna - chef.
The word "nature" underlines the importance of promoting projects oriented towards increasingly sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions. At the same time, the word "matter" opens and nourishes a spontaneous dialogue with design, creative thinking, planning and the propensity to imagine infinite and possible transformations.
Fuorisalone, by hosting this special meeting, has started a path that will involve other realities and which will accompany us until April 2024 with insights, engaging contents, special projects and innovations to be built together with the companies and initiatives that will bring their visions to Milan and their ideas at Design Week.
