The best locations decorated for the holidays, to enjoy the city with the perfect atmosphere of the Christmas that is about to arrive.
Park Hyatt
The Park Hyatt hotel, in one of the most central and characteristic spots in the city - the Vittorio Emanuele gallery - has always been a trailblazer for Milanese Christmas celebrations. This year the decorations are in full 80s style, with a vintage and glam flavor that makes the location perfect for an aperitif or a breakfast in the charming bar, under the glass dome that opens the view to the gallery - and travertine interiors to lean on in intimate niches with velvet sofas.
Gingerbread Christmas Village
A gingerbread house has appeared in Piazza XXV Aprile: it is Jo Malone London's Christmas Village, which this year has produced a limited edition fragrance and an entire line that recall the famous Christmas biscuit, freshly baked. In addition to the gingerbread house - where you can fully immerse yourself in the Christmas atmosphere by discovering the brand's products - a large Christmas tree decorates the square, while various workshops and activities will take place until January 6th. The entire program on the website.
Portrait Milano
One of the newest squares in the city, Piazza del Quadrilatero - hidden in a side street of Corso Venezia between San Babila and Palestro - also hosts one of the most magical locations in Milan to let yourself be transported towards the holidays among fairy lights and sophisticated decorations. Hotel, restaurant, bar, lounge and square: Portrait Milano is the perfect place to enjoy a glamorous evening around the streets of Milanese fashion, where you can also go shopping or dedicate yourself to a moment of well-being.
Pop Christmas in Portanuova
In Piazza Gae Aulenti, Christmas is Pop Up, thanks to a luminous tunnel and a 13 meter high tree of boxes with 5 interactive rooms that invite you to be "pop", "smart", "open" and "kind". A manifesto therefore on the joy of giving, where innovation, technology and immersive special effects are the protagonists. Together with music, thanks to the collaboration with Warner Music Italy. The display continues in Piazza Alvar Aalto, where a gigantic gift package invites you to take and post Christmas photos on social media. And even the bridge on via Gioia, like the "walkway" of via Capelli, together with the fountain in Gae Aulenti, are illuminated and colored to envelop us in a magical atmosphere. All the info here.
At Garghet
Outside the center - way outside - the Al Garghet restaurant is the most Christmassy place in the whole city. Tartan tablecloths, fir branches, riots of fairy lights, mistletoe and red berries envelop diners in dining rooms with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere, where the details of the interiors with exposed bricks and beams go very well with the most classic decorations ever. Among Schiaccianoci, toy trains and gift packages, you can also imagine yourself writing a letter to Santa Claus on a vintage desk and fantasizing looking at the myriad of bucolic paintings hanging on the walls.
