Last minute ideas? Design contaminates also food & drink, with limited editions perfect for these holidays.
The AMDL Circle panettone
The packaging of Molino Pasini's glazed panettone this year is designed by AMDL CIRCLE, the multidisciplinary studio founded by Michele de Lucchi, who thought of the entire packaging, including the tin, the paper shopper and the wrapping of the panettone with honeycomb paper and a string of jute. On the outside of the cylinder, a designed wunderkammer opens up, which among shelves, niches and small rooms, reveals inspiring objects, prototypes and models. The 2023 signature limited edition celebrates the combination between art and flour, the mantra of the mill's corporate philosophy, also launching an invitation to think about what will come through the statement that Michele De Lucchi wrote and signed by hand on the package: "What's the point of designing the future if we don't imagine it happy, positive, responsible?". All proceeds from the sale of the limited edition are donated to CasaInsieme Onlus, an association of volunteers created with the aim of assisting people affected by Alzheimer's disease within a family environment.
The Natural Wine Company holiday box
An excellent gift idea for this Christmas is also a subscription to The Natural Wine Company, the website for buying and discovering natural wines from all over Europe, born from the Spanish design magazine Apartamento. For these holidays, two Holiday Boxes are also available on the online shop - box 1 and box 2 - with different selections of wines including gems such as the very rare collaborative bottle created by TNWC for Sunnei and Highsnobiety for the launch of their objects during the last Milan Design Week.
Cova panettone with Linea Daria t-shirt
This year the limited edition of the famous panettone by Giovanni Cova & C. - an historic Milanese pastry - is created in collaboration with Linea Daria, a world of ironic and personalized phrases, which makes words dance and creates universes of wonder through irreverent writings. The iconic LIBBRA MILANESE 1120g tin of Panettone lends itself to irony and creativity with the phrase "Che sbatti il Natale (senza te)" [which means more or less “Christmas is a hassle (without you)”]: a gift from the heart, a sincere and fun message, to share with those who make your Christmas special and… “less struggling”!
Fornasetti panettone
Fornasetti, together with its eclectic and iconic aesthetic, celebrates the holidays by paying homage to the Milanese tradition in collaboration with the Davide Longoni bakery. The limited edition box welcomes the Christmas dessert among architectural facades, while on the lid of the hatbox-like package the face of Lina Cavalieri emerges in one of the most dreamlike variations of the series. This year, Fornasetti panettone returns to the original ingredients, with raisins, candied orange peel and citron, combined with saffron pistils for an unconventional taste.
Sgrappa
Sgrappa launches its first limited edition at Christmas, with a black and white illustration with a retro taste that pays homage to its mixable nature, evoking the world and atmospheres of mixology. After the success of the two cocktails Espresso (S)martini and Caffè (S)corretto (launched together with I Soliti Idioti, The Jackal and Il Milanese Imbruttito), Sgrappa throws itself into a new adventure in which the classic deco style features meet of the design and the unmistakable artistic gesture signed by Maurizio Cattelan, which becomes the protagonist of the surface. Produced by hand in Piedmont, Sgrappa is a grappa with a strong spirit, but only in appearance: the pomace from red grapes, moist and rich in aromas, is processed with small discontinuous copper stills with a steam jet, to obtain the phlegm, which then it is passed through a modern rectification column to obtain maximum nose cleanliness.
The Martesana x Cortilia panettone, decorated by Antonio Aricò
The Alta Pasticceria di Quartiere dedicates to Cortilia a signature leavened product with an enveloping, structured and Mediterranean aromatic bouquet, thanks to Calabrian cedar, Italian orange and mandarin: a trio of candied citrus fruits that gives the palate an intriguing play of different consistencies. The panettone is made with one of the oldest sourdoughs in all of Milan and excellent raw materials which, combined with slow leavening, allow us to obtain a dough with a perfect texture and unprecedented softness. The packaging was designed by the artist and designer Antonio Aricò, with shapes and colors inspired by the ingredients of this limited edition panettone.
Sant Ambroeus panettone in a pink hatbox
The panettone from one of the most fascinating pastry shops in Milan, wrapped in Christmas paper and a red satin ribbon, this year is packaged in a beautiful hatbox made in the characteristic Sant Ambroeus pink with an embroidered edge, gold foil logo and unexpected celestial interiors. The perfect gift to bring to a sophisticated dinner with very delicate tones.
