Designed by LOTTO Studio, the first flagship store of the Venetian footwear brand reflects the creative and contemporary soul of the collections and, above all, of Marsèll's continuous aesthetic research.
The first flagship store of the footwear and accessories brand Marsèll opens in via della Spiga 42. This Italian artisan excellence has always been in dialogue with art and culture and the interior of this brand new space have been designed by LOTTO Studio - a Berlin-based designer duo made up of Mirko Ihrig and Casey Lewis. 400 m2 on two levels dedicated to the iconic timeless collections and with, at street level, the men's and women's collections, and a gallery area to present collaborations and site-specific artistic projects.

Here the underground level functions as a forum with a dual purpose: to display the Marsèll family of tires and to host meetings, exhibitions and conferences. This room is characterized by long steps that delimit a central area, imagined as an exhibition space. It is accessed via a large staircase made up of a walnut bookcase conceived as a "permanent work" which extends to the full height, becoming a connecting element between the floors. A system of curtains was designed to divide the spaces flexibly when necessary, allowing exchanges and flows of a constantly evolving audience to be modulated.
The store, in the Quadrilatero della Moda in Milan, is the result of team design work, a close eight-month collaboration between the Italian shoe and accessories brand and the Berlin design studio LOTTO Studio. Together they designed a space in which to escape, open and modern, comfortable and solemn, in which it is possible to stage the entire repertoire of Marsèll creations.

The materials of the interior design project, chosen wisely and accurately, are varied and available in different finishes, the result of constant research: respectful of the material, simple, sophisticated enough, and for this very reason elegant. On this occasion there are two main elements, which in contrast define the geometry of the interiors: stone-earth and space-air. Travertine was chosen to characterize the women's area, while walnut wood for the men's area. And then stainless steel, glass, leather and colors that are part of the Marsèll DNA, mixed with translucent fabrics. The walls were made with a mixture of cement and stone chips from the Brenta river and act as a perimeter for a more flexible and contemporary interior, with areas dedicated to the presentation of artists and creatives.
“An obsession with and constant research into materials and how to combine them made it possible to create a space that skilfully combines design and craftsmanship” explains Marco Cima – Creative Director and Founder of Marsèll. Thus, the design of the store reflects the shapes and finishes of Marsèll, through a scrupulous balancing of the elements to create a timeless space.
