Roberto Sironi
Designer Roberto Sironi - who has always placed the multiple meanings and implications of matter at the center of his research - accompanied visitors to the Fuorisalone 2024 on a journey into an abstract and fascinating time. Together with LAUFEN, for the launch of 12 new ceramic colors of the bathroom furniture brand, Sironi curated the Color Archeology exhibition, an interdisciplinary journey between art, design, archeology and history of color that crosses ancient ceramic cultures in an arc time that goes from 3000 BC. to 1500 AD. The light blues and blues of Ancient Egypt, the chromatic tones of the lands of the Mesopotamian civilizations, the celadons of Imperial China, the wabi sabi colors of ancient Japan, the brick red of the Roman sealed lands are some of the colors identified within a path of research which analyzed more than 10,000 archaeological finds preserved in the most important international museums, from the Larco Museum in Lima, to the Rietberg Museum in Zurich, from the Acropolis Museum in Athens to the Metropolitan Museum.
