Gomma Festival 2023

The 8th edition of the festival will be held this weekend: Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September 2024.

Mosso Milano is once again hosting Gomma Festival, an illustration festival born in 2015 that has always been sensitive to cultural and social development. Since the first edition, in fact, it has been confirmed as a meeting occasion to promote a network among talents and to share ideas and projects.
Through a nice play on words in Italian, this year's edition, the eighth, proposes struggle as the central theme of the festival: struggle understood as the need for positive change, a response to the paralyzing indifference of contemporary society.

Based on the chosen theme, all the activities of the Gomma Festival 2024 program will be developed in a combination of illustration and social responsibility. Two days full of events, including the outdoor Grande Market in Mosso Square, with more than 40 illustrators selected from all over Italy.
A few steps away, in the Via Mosso Gardens, works reinterpreting the Palestinian flag will be on display, with proceeds going to the Palestinian Red Crescent Association, thanks to the project curated by This is Not a Love Song.

Among the various events, there will be of course the Portfolio Review, an important opportunity for emerging artists, and others, to engage with Gomma Festival recruiters by receiving expert opinions and valuable suggestions to increase their chances of presenting their work to industry experts, HR and clients.
Staying on the subject of new talent, the exhibition È tutto blu, created by students of the illustration and animation department of the IED in Milan, will be open to the public in the blue room, with works printed in cyanotype, with the characteristic color Prussian Blue.

The festival will be enlivened by various activities and talks, such as Disegno Partecipato organised by Blackie Edizioni, and workshops of various kinds, including an initiative also aimed at children called Colora le piazze, a project based on the idea of transforming slogans and event banners into illustrated parade posters.

The days will end in music with DJ sets of different musical genres, ranging from funk to reggae.
