The itinerant art fair combines the cultural heritage of an old clinic with the avant-garde character of its proposals
Transforming the site of the former Klinik Gut, in the heart of the magnificent Swiss Alps, into a unique international platform where leading galleries, artists, and designers engage with the historical context of the location—especially where exhibitions are thoughtfully curated with deep vision—is at the core of the event. Between art, architecture, and collectible design, NOMAD returns to St. Moritz from February 20 to 23, 2025, and continues to redefine the landscape of contemporary art fairs, appealing to an audience in search of something different and unexpected.

The curatorial selection is a key element for this niche art and collectible design fair, renowned worldwide. Equally important is the choice of architectural setting—ranging from historic residences to palaces and hotels under renovation—each time creating an enchanting experience that fosters an intimate connection between visitors and exhibitors. The former Klinik Gut is a highly evocative place. St. Moritz’ reputation as a therapeutic destination began in the mid-19th century with the rediscovery of its mineral springs. This led to an increased demand for accommodations, including the construction of Villa Joos in 1868. The villa was later renamed Villa Beaulieu and was purchased by Dr. Paul Gut in 1941, who transformed it into a clinic with ten beds for full medical care. He later expanded the clinic significantly, especially during the 1948 Winter Olympics and the post-war tourism boom. This year, with 45 exhibitors—31 galleries and 14 special projects featuring intersections between art and jewelry design—NOMAD will honor this legacy by bringing a vibrant new chapter of ideas to St. Moritz. The old rooms, such as the operating rooms of the clinic, with their unique features, will become exhibition spaces dedicated to a gallery or special project, offering a rare and intimate exhibition context. Drawing inspiration from the past, NOMAD participants will be encouraged to adopt a broader and more creative approach, focusing on lifestyle, well-being, and the human experience.

The a-Ma-Re Capri restaurant will curate the gastronomic offering of the event with an exclusive pop-up designed by architect Giuliano Andrea dell'Uva. Amidst meetings, talks, parties, dinners, and presentations featuring prominent figures from the industry, NOMAD—one of the first events to imagine a new format redefining the concept of "art fair"—continues to deliver the “wow effect” that the two founders, Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte and Giorgio Pace, initiated back in 2017.
