The theme of the event is "Dialogues," which permeates every aspect of the fair, from special sections and awards to the cultural program and the offerings from the participating galleries. Dialogues creates a space for collective reflection where photography becomes a tool to explore reality in all its forms, with particular attention to the Italian photographic heritage of the 1960s and 1970s.

The Main Section has a special focus on group exhibitions by female artists, exploring themes of memory, identity, and the tension between strength and vulnerability. The presence of international galleries enriches the scene with both historical and contemporary works, while the dialogue between the past and innovation emerges through photographs that range from ancient techniques to the most innovative languages, including artificial intelligence. Beyond Photography-Dialogue, curated by Domenico de Chirico, is the longest-running of the curated sections, dedicated to galleries with exhibition projects created specifically for the fair, focused on creating dialogues between photographic works and other expressive media. Reportage Beyond Reportage, curated by Emanuela Mazzonis di Pralafera, invites the audience on a visual journey through the works of photographers from different generations and nationalities. The FOCUS section, curated by Rischa Paterlini, is dedicated to Switzerland and connects Swiss galleries and artists with international representatives. The publishing section is also of great interest, featuring international publishers, independent publishers, and specialized bookstores presenting previews of their 2025 publications and the best of their catalogs.

Among the special projects: Eberhard & Co. presents the exhibition 24 OpeRE, where the works of twenty-four major photographers bring to life a visual narrative exploring the paradox between measurable time and lived time. Dream Role, curated by Beatrice Audrito, is dedicated to the photographs of director Peter Chelsom; the project Interno Pompeiano by Luigi Spina features eight large-format works and is part of a limited edition created during the pandemic period; MIA Photo Fair BNP Paribas presents OFF-THE-WALL. An Unusual Photographic Exhibition, curated by Erik Kessels; and Photo Grant by Deloitte, with the artistic direction of Denis Curti and the BlackCamera team, presents a selection of images from the winners of the first edition to today: Newsha Tavakolian, Fernanda Liberti, and Davide Monteleone, with a mention for the winner of the 2024 Open Call, Fabiola Ferrero.
